Writing paper after paper feels like it takes forever to write a dissertation and I just want to stop! These sentiments have been expressed by many a doctoral student while plodding along. So many times it just takes a kind word or a bit of understanding to make the difference between quitting the doctoral journey or not. Perhaps the best type of dissertation help is offering emotional support. In my own life having a EdD has made all the difference - between living in the city I was born in or moving half way around the world, from doing what I had always done to conquering new worlds, new businesses. I support you in your doctoral journey because I know it can be the key to your new level of life. Hopefully some of the following will ring a bell and be the guidance you need.
"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts." Winston Churchill
"Success is the ability to go from one failue to another with no loss of enthusiasm." Winston Churchill
"Know where to find the information and how to use it - that is the secret of success." Albert Einstein
"I am a success today because Ihad a friend who believed in me and I didn't have the heart to let him down." Abraham Lincoln
"The person who can drive himself further one the effort gets painful is the person who will win." Roger Barnnister
"The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person's determination."
I have interviewed a lot of recently graduated doctors and they all tell me the same thing - one of the most meaningful parts of finishing is not how it feels for yourself, but how it feels for your families - your children and grandchildren will take on your achievement and know that they too can accomplish whatever they put their minds to.
All the best,
